Host a 3-Way Call

You can't merge with a call to emergency services, directory assistance, or your own number.

Computer - Add & merge a new call

  1. On your computer, while you’re on a Google Voice call, click Add.
  2. In your contact list, find the person you want to transfer the call to.
    • If the person isn't a contact, enter their number.
  3. Click the person’s name or number.
    1. The original call is placed on hold.
    2. A call is made to the second person.
  4. To merge the 2 calls into a 3-way call, click Merge.

Computer - Merge from a call waiting scenario

To merge 2 calls into a 3-way call, when one call is active and another is on hold, click Merge.

Computer - Exit a 3-way call

In a 3-way call:

  • To exit the call and leave the other 2 participants connected, click End Call.
  • To end the call for all participants and exit, click End for All.


Mobile - Add & merge a new call

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, while you’re on a Google Voice call, tap Add.
  2. In your list of contacts, find the person you want to transfer the call to.
    • If the person isn't a contact, enter their number.
  3. Tap the person’s name or number.
    1. The original call is placed on hold.
    2. A call is made to the second person.
  4. To merge the 2 calls into a 3-way call, tap Merge.

Mobile - Merge from a call waiting scenario

To merge 2 calls into a 3-way call, when one call is active and another is on hold, tap Merge.

Mobile - Exit a 3-way call

In a 3-way call:

  • To exit the call and leave the other 2 participants connected, tap End Call.
  • To end the call for all participants and exit, tap End for All.
