Conversational Reporting With AI in UKG
The Conversational Reporting experience offered through UKG Ready Bryte AI Assistant provides managers and administrators the ability to ask natural-language questions against key report data—no filters, no pivot tables, just ask. Our best-in-class Bryte AI solution can provide answers in short-form and long-form based on the context and keywords within the questions/requests that users make.
Getting Started
To begin using Conversational Reporting:
Navigate to any of the three supported reports listed above.
Select the Report Highlights button in the upper right corner of the report to open the Bryte AI Assistant panel.
Verify that the welcome message confirms which report you are working with.
Type your question in the input field and press Enter.
Asking Questions
Conversational Reporting accepts questions written in plain language. Answers are tailored to the complexity of the question—simple questions produce short, direct answers, while analytical or summary requests produce longer, more detailed responses.
Tips for Better Results
Use the same terminology shown in your report column headers. For example, refer to "Default Department" rather than just "department" if that is how it appears in the report.
For broader analytical responses, include words such as "analyze," "summarize," "correlate," or "in-depth summary."
For quick counts or lookups, use words such as "how many," "which," "count," or "calculate."
You can request a specific word count or length, such as "provide a 500-word summary" or "answer in 3–5 bullet points."
If an answer appears incorrect, ask the agent to explain its reasoning: "Explain how you generated this answer."
If a term is ambiguous, the assistant may ask a clarifying question. Provide additional context to continue.
Working with Date Ranges
Questions about time-sensitive data can include relative or specific date references. Examples include:
“This week” / “Last week”
“Last 30 days” / “Last 90 days”
“Between July 1st and September 30th”
“In the last 2 years”
“This quarter” / “Last quarter”
“Year to date”
Structuring the Output
You can control the format of your answer by including formatting instructions in your question. For example:
“Display results as a bulleted list.”
“Create a table with columns for Employee Name, Department, and Total Hours.”
“Show the top 10 results only.”
“Provide the answer in 3–5 paragraphs.”
Creating Charts
To generate a chart from your data, include the word "chart" in your request. The assistant will produce a visual output along with a brief summary of key takeaways.
You can also request a specific chart type by name. If you do not specify a type, the agent selects the most appropriate format for your data. To change the chart type for the same data, simply ask again with the new type.
