Turnover Reports In UKG

Updated:
You must have the proper permissions in UKG to access turnover reporting.

There are five (5) Turnover Reports available in UKG Ready.  You can find these reports by navigating to:

MENU:   My Reports  >  HR  >  Turnover

Turnover Statistics

This turnover report shows the details of each termination, along with a Summary at the bottom of the report page. The summary shows counts, percentages, and average lengths for terminated, average active headcount per day, and if selected in the filter, the turnover rate which takes the terminated and divides by the average active headcount per day. Filters are available to set your Date Range and include or exclude the turnover rate.

* PLEASE SEE THE NOTE ON CALC. METHOD SHOWN AT BOTTOM

Turnover By Reason CodeThis report shows amounts and percentages of terminations by reason codes. The reason codes are shown by their names in columns across the report with a total number in the Total column. Date ranges can be defined via the Date Range filter.
Turnover Rates SummaryThis turnover report shows terminations over the previous 12 months and shows the turnover percentage rate. Filters are available to select the Date Range, Employee Types, and Company EIN. Headcounts are shown by actual and average headcount over the previous 12 months. An Info icon displays at the top of the report page to explain how the turnover rate is calculated. (Total terminations over the previous 12 months/average headcount over the previous 12 months.)
Turnover Rates by Cost Center

This turnover report displays terminations and headcounts by cost center. The report also shows headcounts occurring at the beginning and end of the month. It shows total terminations over the previous 12 months. Filters are available to select the Date Range, Employee Types, and Cost Centers.

Rows can be removed so you can view specific cost center levels. This allows you to review turnover information at the cost center level and make it easier to export data and compare cost center levels without having to manipulate the data in Excel. This is accomplished through filters (the funnel icon). Functionality in the Cost Center Filter section allows you to filter based on cost center name, cost center levels, and/or multiple cost centers.

Once the filters are applied, those rows will be removed from the report, and you can then save the view for future use. The Show All Cost Center Levels toggle and can be activated and all associated cost centers, both parent and child levels, will display. You can further filter the list.

Turnover By EINThis turnover report displays terminations and headcounts by EIN. It shows total terminations over the previous 12 months and the average headcount over the previous 12 months. A turnover percentage rate displays for each month. Filters are available to select the Date Range, Employee Types, and Company EIN.

On the Turnover Statistics report filters, there is a checkbox to enable the Calc. Method:

  • If not enabled, the default formula used for Turnover Rate on the Turnover Statistics report is (Terminations/(Active + Terminations + LOA)) * 100.

This provides you with the percentage of the total employee population that terminated during the date range for which the report is run.

For example, if there were 1000 employees during January and 10 of them terminated employment during the month, the rate shown will be 1%.

  • For many employers, the preferred method of calculating turnover is (Terminated/Average Active Headcount Per Day) * 100.

If this formula is preferred, there is a setting in the report filters you can select for "Use Average Active Count Per Day For Turnover Calculation". Be sure to save the report with the setting enabled.
